In December 2007, four San Francisco-based handbell ringers decided to accept a challenge: To ring a set of three fiddle tunes of the sort often heard in folk dances such as contra, and to ring it on bells at full dance tempo. What’s more, due to various time constraints, all of this needed to be accomplished in just two days of rehearsal time. We believe this to be among the fastest and most difficult ringing ever successfully performed.
