hi, i was just wondering does anyone know of a safe program to use, that creates ringtones from your music on your harddrive? a free one if possible

As well, there is no right or wrong program to do so, if it’s saving options includes the archive extension your cell phone accepts. A good Mcc program can be ProTools which edits any kind of sounds and saves in several kinds too. For PC you can use Adobe Audition. But exclusively to make ringtones there is RingJone for mp3 format, xingtone available at cnet downloads, Easy Ringtone Maker, and a very good one is Ringtone Creator 2. 4 with very easy-to-use interface.

I use dBpowerAMP to convert to wav, then cut it with Sound Recorder, then convert to mp3 for my phone(Samsung t629) or wma for my girlfriend’s phone(Nokia 6133). Sound Recorder is one of the programs that comes with Windows. You can get dBpowerAMP from http://www. dbpoweramp. com for free. If you need to convert to the wma format, you’ll need to get the Windows Media codec from dBpowerAMP’s site.
I do it the long way, but I never have a problem with them working correctly. There may be other programs that can be used.
