This device has helped me to hear better on the phone, but I still have some trouble understanding people. A possable cause is the type of hearing defect. I am still trying different ways to use the device both with and without my hearing aids.

I bought this amplifier to use at work. The telephone system there has a volume control on each phone that barely works and resets every few minutes back to the original volume. I am hearing impaired and wear a hearing aid – which makes it worse because my hearing aid’s “telephone compatible” switch is awful (working on purchasing a better aid next year) – and it makes high pitched interference sounds if the telephone switch is not on.

This product is fantastic – the volume control on the left is very powerful and I can’t imagine ever needing to put it up all the way. I have not used the boom button yet (which mutes your voice to eliminate background noise) – because the volume control is more than adequate. I share my phone with a co-worker who is not hearing impaired and the volume control allows her to set it at a comfortable level for her as well. All in all – a great solution to my problem at an amazingly low price. I bought two – one permanent – for the phone at work and another portable one that I haven’t used yet but can take with me if I need it somewhere else.

I purchased this to use on phones that we use in an area that has a lot of background noise. The phones and lines are old and we have a hard time hearing customers. However, this amplifies the noise and static on the phone also so they do not work for our situation.

I bought this amplifier for my 92 yr old Mother to use on her standard old style corded phone. She removes her hearing aid to use it and she loves it. Now it is easier to talk to her on the phone, than it is in person with her hearing aid in. Another feature is that it is portable; you can take it on vacation and use in most all hotel rooms or other friends homes. The 9v battery lasts 4-6 months. Be gentle when changing the battery as the wires may pull loose from the from the battery connector, easily repairable. If you are reading this, Buy it!
