March 10, 2010 @ 10:40 pmListening to this, I feel regret that I haven’t bought the CD when there was a deal at the local CD shop.
The violin and the cello are just… words cannot express what I feel. They are reminiscent, full of regret and sadness yet there is a touch of hope within the chords. They remind me of what life is like.

March 11, 2010 @ 12:21 amDoes anyone else think it is kind of funny that Mr. Darcy is playing a gay man
I am just being silly, it is a great part for Firth and he does a great job but he will always be Mr. Darcy for me

March 11, 2010 @ 1:15 amNominations for best score were very strange this year, no idea how this didn’t get a nod. Up had the best score of the year though, so I’ll be happy if that wins. Anything would be ridiculous.

Well I would have been surprised had No Country for Old Men been nominated for its score, since it didn’t have one. I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one, because while I personally wouldn’t have given The Hurt Locker’s score a nomination, I can still appreciate why other people would. On topic; this music is stunning.

March 11, 2010 @ 4:18 amI disagree. The music hardly affected the mood and atmosphere in the film. It really didn’t do anything in the movie. If the soundtrack is removed from it, I’m sure it wouldn’t make a difference. The Hurt Locker is just like No Country for Old Men in that aspect. At least the latter didn’t garner an unnecessary nomination. Both films really have no need for a score to maintain suspense, so the nomination isn’t warranted. Not when there are scores such as this one to choose from.

The reason that The Hurt Locker is up for best score is because while the music was less prominent, it was perfect for the movie in every possible way.

March 11, 2010 @ 5:40 amI’m still trying to figure out why my previous comment got so many negatives just because I thought ASM and Drag Me to Hell were more deserving of Score nominations than Sherlock Holmes and The Hurt Locker.

March 11, 2010 @ 6:31 amTouching.I expected a lot,but I got even more
This movie is perfect from cast, story, music, camera, everything is in the place
Soundtrack is WOW
and not only that Abel K did amazing job,but director of the movie put his composition in the right moments in the movie
Sadly more I was enjoying the movie, more I was aware that CRAZY HEART will win. This is not story to touch narrow minded americans
This is story for us EU people
Maybe Coling get it,but best movie will be AVATAR or CH

March 11, 2010 @ 7:17 amI agree. I love Hans’ music, but after a while, you kind of notice how incredibly similar his notes are.
Just listen to “Am I Not Merciful?” from Gladiator, “Watch the World Burn” from The Dark Knight and “Immolation” from Angels & Demons back-to-back-to-back and you’ll notice.

March 11, 2010 @ 7:37 amthts cause all his scores are awesome, because they are the same lol. sherlock is just pirates, pirates is just gladiator. he has hardly any variance at all, but he is still awesome of course, but repetitive.

March 11, 2010 @ 9:59 amThank you for posting this piece. I saw the film 3 weeks ago and it still lingers on my mind. One of the best film Colin Firth has ever done. And the music score… exquisite.

March 11, 2010 @ 10:23 amI wholeheartedly agree. Upon seeing The Hurt Locker…. I don’t even know why it’s there. There was barely any music playing in the background and the little that played was not very memorable at all….
